BREAKING NEWS:
A new discovery in Juab County near Spore Mountain is producing beautiful high grade gem quality material in pastels and purples and many other soothing colors.
Just north of the Francisco Mountain Range in the most remote and isolated section of southwest Utah is found the Spore Mountain Lavender Pit Mine area, a new set of private claims producing some of the highest grade ore, only found in this area of the world, the "Tiffany Stone" also known as "Bertrandite", "Opalized Fluorite" or "Utah Lavender".
All the older stocks of Tiffany Stone that you may have seen have been originally taken from the old Brush Wellman mining operations at Spore Mountain. That mine has been closed for years due to no ore material and hazardous mining conditions. The new Tiffany Stone tends to be much more silicated and agatized than the classic "Brush Wellman" Tiffany Stone that has been sporadically available on the market for many years. This new material is much harder, more solid and generally more suitable for cutting than the old material. It also takes a much higher polish and is not as fragile as the old Tiffany Stones. The new is also far more beautiful. Just like the old hard rock miners of yesteryear, all of our mining and grading is done by hand.
